Food Safety Level 3 – Highfield e-learning

It’s estimated there are half a million cases of food poisoning in the UK each year.

However, it’s thought this figure is a vast underestimate as most people suffering from food poisoning do not see a GP and recover within a few days.

Following the correct food safety guidance and legislation is therefore vital to protect the public, and your business.

The course

The Level 3 Food Safety course is designed to help you navigate existing food safety legislation, gain an awareness of your responsibilities, and have the right knowledge and understanding to go on and sit an exam or e-assessment in level 3 food safety.

It has been written by some of the leading subject matter experts in the subject of food safety – Richard Sprenger and Jude Hutchinson.

Who is it aimed at?

Those in a supervisory or management role (or aspiring to be) with responsibility for food safety.

Prerequisites

Supervisors should already have underpinning knowledge, preferably derived from a food safety level 2 qualification.

The e-learning also covers the key elements of HACCP, including:

  • HACCP and food safety
  • implementing HACCP
  • conducting a hazard analysis
  • from CCPs to corrective actions
  • verification and documentation

How it works

Our e-learning is available to use on multiple platforms such as tablets, PCs and laptops. All you need is an internet connection. Learners simply log on to the Learner Management System (LMS) and work their way through the course, along with the scenarios that provide them with real-life context.

Learners are assessed at the end of each unit via 5 multiple-choice questions. The pass mark is 100 per cent, with results available instantly.

Certification/accreditation

Learners will receive a Highfield e-learning completion certificate, which is downloadable upon completion.

However, where the learner needs to achieve the full qualification they will still need to sit an exam or an e-assessment. The e-learning is designed to give the learner the knowledge and understanding to do this successfully.

The exam or e-assessment must be arranged separately with a training centre approved to deliver the qualification.
